First off, go to www.download.com and type in "IrfanView" (no quoation marks) into the search box. Download and install the program to your computer. This is an excellent program and totally free.

Once IrfanView is installed load one of your pictures via File--->Open. Click your cursor on the spot where you want to start cropping and, while holding down the left mouse button, drag out a box covering the part of the picture you want to keep. If you want to start over, click somewhere outside of the box you drew and try again. Once you have the area selected go to Edit--->Crop Selection to crop your picture. You can then go to File--->Save to save your new cropped picture.

To re-size your picture go to Image--->Resize/Resample. You can then size it either by dimensions or by a percentage.

Feel free tp play around in IrfanView as it is a great little program that can do all sorts of things to your pictures.
